Why vote for PTI?

In my October 9th post last year, I pointed out PTI must join hands with other political forces - individual or party level, and today we see PTI have open doors for many politicians who've either join PTI for sake of party ticket or party policy of bringing change in country.

PTI has already published its economic, educational and social policies - so far it is the only party in Pakistan history to make such a move. And interesting now we're seeing few leaving party and rejoining others as they don't see their (maybe corrupt) political future in this party which is good for this new born party's overall image and political future.

My top 10 reasons to vote for PTI are:

1. This party is never been tried before, this is the best argument to vote for change - old faces, ideas can't bring any change - their survival is in old pathatic political system.

2. Only party which is shown strength in all parts of Pakistan. I'm not refering it only because they're running big shows in all provinces but the fact, this party has become symbol of a Pakistani party, it is not a Punjab, Sindh, Balouch or KP based party, its origin is from Lahore and its presence can be felt allover Pakistan. When it conducted its party convention in Quetta, it surprised everyone when Baloch sung Pakistani songs there - this party never talks about sectarian, regional or language division or neither ask for votes on this basis.

3. This bring to my 3 most important reason to vote for PTI - This party is a national party, which speak about Pakistan and Pakistanis as nation. It runs songs which promote provisional harmony and nationalism. PPP and PML(N)/(Q), are either Punjab based parties or Sindh based. Though PPP has won national/provincial seats from all over Pakistan but it always play its Sindh card whenever reaquired.

4. Against waging War on Pakistanis. It is the only party which from day 1, standing on its stance of negotiating with tribal communities both at south and north waziristan.

5. Coming up with Policy documents and plans on major issues faced in Pakistan.

6. Party Structure/selection based on democratic norms. Few seats are given based on political influence which is a dent to what Imran Khan has been claiming.

7. Everyone has his/her say in party meetings unlike those of democratic parties.

8. Coming up with different policy statement on terrorism and sectarian differences in the country.

9. Most of the members are young and looking for a change in existing setup having a revolutionary mindset and vision.

10. And Simply because Imran Khan is not corrupt.
      

New Army Chief..

In Pakistan, Army is always been the second most influential place to be beside being President or Prime Minister of the country. And some do comment, COAS is the most powerful position in the country. The current chief of Army is about to retire, he is catching lot of news lately considering he got 3 years extension last time and until yesterday, many were saying he would get another extension rather is lobbing for his extension or being made a powerful joint-chief of staff head (which at the moment is kind of ceremonial position, only given to senior Lt. General if he is not promoted as Army Chief)

I personally think, Gen. Keyani should not only resign gracefully but also not take any other position either as chairman joint chief of staff or US ambassadorship. These positions don't stand what he has achieved in last 6 years as Pakistan's Army chief. The way he has conducted himself especially in last couple of years, he is been hailed by every walk of life even from most insane critics of Pak Army. If he evaluate is current standing and see where he will be if given any position for years, here is my analysis why he shouldn't take any government office.

1. After becoming US Ambassador, he might enjoy few years of international limelight but loss his position of neutrality.
2. Even becoming joint chief of staff would only position him as weak character, what he holds now as being strong and institution building individual.
3. Money shouldn't be his concern and not even remaining in limelight - he especially has already enjoyed both and will continue to have both even after his retirement.  
4. If he retires now, every Pakistani serving or retire army officers/sapahe will admire him for rest of his life, he might become part of our history books.
5. Now, he will be retiring as Chief of Army Staff - the most highly influential position in Pakistan... Later, end note will not be this exciting.
6. If he retires gracefully now, he will be a welcome speaker for rest of his life from all walks of life in Pakistan and outside.
7. If he retires, he will set a great precedence to his successors for upholding institutions over individuals.

Last but not least - we all are Pakistanis and few things are those which don't change in us. I wish, now is the time for change and our leaders take the first dive in this sea.
  

World of 100 People

Got a very interesting website, http://100people.org .. They have explain in most simple way possible the statistical analysis of our world. How easy it becomes when you know 26% of 7 billion world population is of children, and 8% have spend 65 years of their life. 83% of world population is literate and 13% has no access to clean water. 75% are cell phone users and 22% don't even have electricity access.

How interesting these stats are when put together, though they are alarming and eye opener for world leaders world over who spend billions and billions of dollars on security where they can spend just millions to get much bigger impact fact than landing their armies in someone's sovereign state.
 

Is this time for Political Change?

Back in 2010, no one would have thought Imran Khan will become such an impact to Pakistani politics. Even I was doubtful but thanks to current government - they've made sure that every silent voter must become vocal. Now funny aspect is that you will find majority of first time voters if not everyone is now compaigning for PTI.

They are all volunteers, and have one objective only to bring political cultural change.
  

You don’t want to give me vote – don’t worry, I will buy you vote..

In 2011 I think, PML-N (a major political party in Pakistan and ruling party of Pakistan’s biggest province) launched a huge political campaign of promoting IT in Punjab young blood who are eligible to vote this year election – I will simply put this as a political trick to attract youngsters who were influence by cricket legend of modern history – Imran Khan, of his political views and for what he stands for…

From last 17 years, when he first set up his party – it was all about Justice and rule of Law. I only saw him coming to different channels, talks and arguing that Pakistan’s main issue is injustice and we saw it last couple of decades that we Pakistanis only complained about injustice in our society.

Coming back to vote – so what they did was simply amazing for getting quick attention of the students who are eligible to vote. They selected students based on merit ofcourse and gave them free laptop. What was the objective? If someone wants to prove the chief minister is trying to promote IT in Pakistan then it is as foolish of his decision as of giving “sassti roti” to poor across Punjab spending estimated over 300Million USD, instead of resolving the problem root cause by regulating laws, control of wheat smuggling and introducing/implementing legislation against illegal stocking. He implemented only facial visible actions which resulted in negatively influencing province budget. Nothing was achieved from such services except they had to shut it down as they were left with no funds to continue it.

Again lost myself in another bad policy of Punjab Government :) if they were really serious then instead of spending billions of rupees on “laptop votes” – they should have just concentrated on talking with manufactures for setting up factories here or at least got some educational discounts/offers from them and these companies have extended same services in Africa.

Back to Blogging..

Alright, here is another vow to write blog regularly... Few have pointed out, that when they start liking my blog – I suddenly stop writing. So from no onwards, plans to give at least 30 minutes of my busy schedule to this “wanna be” blogger thing. :)

Interestingly there is lot of happening in Pakistan and elsewhere in the world – we’re living in the “World of Minute” where every minute, we have a new news or information to share. This is world of happening; if you just compile the list of breaking news of all the world channels – from entertainment, news, sport, music, internet, IT, communication, education, health care etc. – we only need 1440 headlines a day and guess what, if you only want to compile breaking news or a significant event from US only, you will easily get this number.

Let’s not sensationalize it further by saying news is happening every second in our world today – though this can be easily mathematically proven if we hit any news that would influence 100 thousand individuals out of 6 billion world population. I’m sure, we can get at least 1440 news per day that would effect at least 1 Million human beings in any way possible.
So let me try to report at least “1” news per day that would make impact on at least million human beings worldwide.
